1 ENCLOSURE 2 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Florida Power Corporation                                      Docket No. 50-302 Crystal River Unit 3                                          License No. DPR-72 The following deviation was identified during a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted on November 13 - December 15, 1987.
In a letter to the NRC from Florida Power Corporation (FPC) dated August 24, 1984, in response to a NRC Confirmatory Order dated February 21, 1984, FPC committed to comply with the requirements of Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.97. This letter documented, in part, the installation of a high range containment area radiation monitor that has both an indicating and recording display in the control room.
Contrary to the above, as of November 23, 1987, the high range containment area radiation monitor does not have a recording display in the control room.
Please provide to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington, DC 20555, with a copy to the Regional Administrator, Region II, [IF APPLICABLE: and a copy to the NRC Resident Inspector, Crystal River 3,] in writing within 30 days of the date of this Notice, the reasons for the deviation, the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations, and the date when your corrective action will be completed. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending the response time.
