t l The staff has reviewed the method for updating topical report BAW-10179P-A, l
" Safety Criteria and Methodology for Acceptable Cycle Reload Analyses," l
! proposed in your letter of December 2,1996 (JHT/96-84), and finds it j l acceptable. In future submittals of methodology topical reports, Framatome i
! Cogema Fuels (FCF) will prepare a corresponding revision to BAW-10179P-A and include it with the submittal. The revision to BAW-10179P-A will contain an
- appendix which provides a brief summary of the methodology topical report and i
- its range of applicability. When the NRC completes its review of the 1
- methodology topical report, it will issue a single Safety Evaluation Report
{ (SER) approving both the mecnodology topical report and the revision to
- BAW-10179P-A. Accepted versions of both topical reports can then be prepared j by FCF, thereby eliminating one round of FCF submittal and NRC approve.l. Any
- limitations on the use of the methodology will be included in the appendix l that is submitted as the accepted revision of BAW-10179P-A.
