FRAMATOME QA TOPICAL REPORT REVISION Your letter of October 28, 1986, transmitted changes to the Framatome organi- 5 zation found in Revision 2A of the Framatome QA topical report FRA-QP/85 0782 NP, "Framatome Quality Assurance (for United States applications)." The changes are:

1) Modification of the scope of the International Organization an<i creation of the Nuclear Products and Services Division, within Nuclear Operations, I which will coordinate comercial aspects of near-terTn work in the U.S.

2) Establishment of an NSSS Division, within Nuclear Operations, to manage the Design, Engineering, and Procurement Divisions, whose responsibilities and authority are not modified.-

3) Dividing Industrial Operations into Industrial Operations (to which report the In Core Instrumentation Facility and the Fuel Division) and Equipment Operations (to which report the Manufacturing Division and the Energy Division).

Based on our evaluation of the changes, we find that the revised topical report continues to meet the criteria of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and is therefore acceptable. This acceptance is based in part on your commitment to comply with the quality assurance related regulatory guides that endorse the ANSI /ASME N45.2 standard and daughter standards and ANSI /ASME NQA-1-1983. Should regulatory criteria or regulations change such that our conclusions about this topical report are invalidated, we will notify you. You will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit it should you so desire.

Please inform all non-NRC holders of controlled copies of the Framatome QA topical r ecrt of the organizational changes. Future changes should be submitted to Document Control Desk Attn: Vendor Program Branch U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555.
