                                    NOTICE OF VIOLATION
        GPU Nuclear Corporation                            Docket No. 50-289
        Three Mile Island, Unit 1                          License No. OPR-50
        As a result of the inspection conducted on August 2 - September 16,
        1985, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2,
        Appendix C published by Federal Register Notice 49 FR 8583, dated March
        8, 1984), the following violation was identified:
          THIS PARAGRAPH CONTAINS SAFEGUARDS'INFORMATION
          AND IS NOT FOR PUBLIC DISCLOSURE, IT IS
          INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK.
            This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement III).
      This notice is sent in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201,
      which requires normally, within 20 days of receipt of this notice, a
      written statement of explanation. However, this violation was
      acknowledged and immediately corrected upon inspector identification,
      and adequate measures to prevent recurrence were taken prior to
      completion of the inspection. Therefore, no response to this violation
      is required.
