Re: Nine Mile Point Unit 1 AEC Docket No. 50-220 Your letter of December 27, 1973 requested certain additional information regarding the proposed refueling plans for Nine'ile Point Unit 1. This letter transmi ts responses in two parts.

The-non-proprietary responses are provided in Attachments A, B, and C to this letter, which correspond to Attachments A, B, and C to your letter. The responses to Attachments B'nd C to your letter are complete except for responses to questions 3.69 and part c of 4.23, which will be provided as soon. as they become available. The responses to Attachment A'o your letter are complete except for questions 3, 4, 5, and 10 which will also be supplied as soon as information becomes available.

The second part of the information transmitted by this letter is information deemed to be proprietary by the General Electric Company.

The Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation hereby requests that the second part of this submittal consisting of such information deemed to be proprietary by General Electric be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10CFR g 2.790 and Q9.5 (4}.

We have reviewed the responses provi ded on other dockets and GESSAR to the questions set forth in Attachmetits B and C to your letter and .find that such responses are generally applicable to Nine Mile Point Unit 1 with the exception that information provided in response to questions 5.5 and 5.6 of Attachment B contain data specific to Unit 1 which differs slightly from that provided on other dockets.

As your letter of December 27, 1973 noted, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation has committed to supply analyses to determine the affects of. fuel densifi cation and the appropriate changes to technical specifications for the fuel to be inserted in the Spring 1974 refueling. This information will be provided on or before January 22, 1974.
