KSU LAR RAI draft.pdf Alan, By letter dated April 9, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12109A063), as supplemented, Kansas State University (KSU) submitted an application for amendment to Facility Operating License No. R-88, for the KSU TRIGA Mark-II Nuclear Reactor Facility, for U.S.Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review. In the course of reviewing KSU's application, as supplemented, the NRC staff has determined that additional information is required to complete its evaluation. | |||
This information is necessary to demonstrate KSU's compliance with the regulations contained in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Therefore, the NRC staff has prepared the attached draft request for additional information (RAI). We are providing a copy of this draft, prior to formally transmitting the RAI, to provide KSU with an opportunity to review the draft to ensure the RAI is clear and understandable, and facilitate discussion during the NRC staff site visit currently scheduled for April 30 and May 1. So that KSU has time to review the draft, we will wait until at least 1 week after the completion of the site visit before formally transmitting the RAI. We can plan to discuss any questions you have regarding the draft RAI during the site visit, but please feel free to contact me with questions at any other time too. We can also discuss an appropriate response time for the RAI during the site visit. Please note that, because the RAI is still a draft, changes to the document before it is formally transmitted to KSU are possible. This email, and the attachment, will be placed in public ADAMS.
