Dear Kristine Svinicki,

.gov In the interest of public safety, we are respectfully requesting that you call a public hearing to present, discuss and solicit feedback on the public safety and evacuation plan of the NcxtEra Power Plant located in Seabrook, New Hampshire known as "Seabrook Station".

Amesbury is one of several coastal communities including Salisbury and Newburyport that are within the ten-mile radius of the nuclear power plan. According to the 2010 U.S. Census the population within this ten-mile radius is at least 118,000 year-round residents.

Our city of Amesbury is currently estimated at a population of at least 17,000. During peak summer ?1: , onths, this population swells as vacationers and tourists flock to the region to enjoy the shore communities of Massachusetts, N cw Hampshire and sout;p.crn Majnc_,, While there is an evacuation plan in place for the plant and Amesbury E mergency Management Agency ?.as its own hazard mitigation plan; a;c concern~d about wh*c~h~*r *a~d h~~, tlie evacuation plan has kept pace with population growth and increased traffic congestion.

We are particularly concerned with the evacuation plans of vulnerable populations in area schools, nursing homes, and hospitals.

We are also calling for this public hearing to include first responders who can comment on the plan based on their perspective and professional training.

We believe that a public hearing on the safety and evacuation plan will, at the very least, explain to the public how the plan is designed to work in hopes that this dialogue will reduce the concern that persists amount our residents. We look fo1ward to your response.
