Notification of Deviation from BWRVIP-183 River Bend Station -Unit 1Docket No. 50-458License No. NPF-47This letter provides notification of a deviation from the Boiling Water Reactor Vessel andInternals Project (BWRVIP) guidelines for River Bend Station.

This is a deviation from theperformance of inspection in accordance with the examination schedules of BWRVIP-183, "BWR Vessel and Internals

Project, Top Guide Grid Beam Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines,"

(EPRI Report 1013401, December 2007).This is a deviation from a "needed" element of the BWRVIP program to perform inspections in accordance with the guidance of BWRVIP-183.

BWRVIP-183 requires an inspection ofthe top guide rim area and two cells every six years and implementation of this inspection should have been completed by Refuel Outage16 (2011). It was discovered that this topguide inspection has not been completed to date at River Bend. The inspection has beenscheduled for the next refuel outage which is Refuel Outage 18 (2015).This deviation from the BWRVIP guidelines has been reviewed and approved in accordance with Entergy procedures and NEI 03-08 guidance.

This is a notification of deviation only, andno action is being requested from the NRC.The attachment to this letter provides a summary of the regulatory commitment made in thissubmittal.
