The Region I Field Office, NRC Office of Investigations (OI), initiated an Assist to Staff (Case No. 1-2021-005F) on February 17, 2021, to gather additional information concerning portal monitor testing at Nine Mile Point and radiation protection technicians compliance with site procedures. Based on the information gathered by OI, the NRC determined a full OI investigation would not be conducted regarding this matter.
Please note that final NRC investigation documents may be made available to the public under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) subject to redaction of information appropriate under the FOIA. Requests under the FOIA should be made in accordance with 10 CFR 9.23, Requests for Records. Additional information is available on the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/foia/foia-privacy.html.
Also, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
