This is to advise you of an inspection initiative that has been implemented NRC wide for all operating reactors.

Periodically, one or more subject areas (e.g., plant configuration control, maintenance, emergency operating procedures) will be selected for specific team inspection emphasis in the fundamental inspection program. The inspection will address all aspects of maintenance performance including preventive and corrective, its scheduling, planning, perfonnance, parts acquisition, and engineering support.

To accomplish this task, Region IV has selected two team leaders and formed a seven man inspection team. The team leaders are Dennis L. Kelley and Raymond P. Mullikin. The teams engineering discipline areas are: mechanical, electrical, instrument / control, health physics, and management evaluation.

The inspections will consist of two on-site inspection weeks separated by a week of off-site inspection.
