This refers to the inspection completed.on October 18,1996 at your Braidwood facility. | |||

The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection. | |||

-This insp'ection included an announced review of the licensee's radiation monitoring | |||
system, the control room and auxiliary building filtered Heating, Ventilation, and Air- | |||

Conditioning (HVAC) systems, and an inspection of radioactive waste system tank rooms. | |||
Special emphasis was placed on operability, and material condition of these systems. . In | |||

addition, a routine review of activities for the Unit 1 mid-cycle outage was conducted. | |||

This inspection noted that the material condition of the radioactive waste tank rooms was . | |||

good as evidenced by adequate housekeeping in the areas, minimal contaminated area, | |||

! | and the low number of outstanding work request items for the equipment in these rooms. | ||
Likewise the HVAC systems inspected were free of debris and found in good working | |||

The radiation monitors inspected were in good working order and appropriate corrective | |||
actions were being implemented for the' four monitors which exhibit recurring operability | |||
