Narcotics detector
- Brian, After looking at the regs and speaking with Bob Fonner, OGC, we have reached the conclusion that if the device is used for detecting narcotics, even if it is incorporated in a unit that also detects explosives. it will need a license as it is not exempt pursuant to 32.26.
As I think we agreed to before, if the device is used to detect both explosives and narcotics, then the exemption that applies to the explosives aspect of the device would cover the narcotics use as well. But if the unit contains separate devices, the one detecting narcotics would have to be licensed.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
