Your ' letter dated August 27, 1976, asked us to provide you a copy of NRC's approval letter for the Yankee-Rowe physical security plan, similar to the NRC approval letters for the physical security plar,s for Maine Yankee and Vermont Yankee.

As' a result of an examination of our file records, we have ascertained that the NRC staff found your physical security plan for Yankee-Rowe to be acceptabic as documented in the enclosed MRC inter-office memo-randum dated May 30, 1974. Our letter to you dated June 17, 1974, copy of which is also enclosed, was sent to you on the basis of the staff's May 30, 1974 findings. That letter dealt primarily with implementation aspects of your plan but inadvertently omitted to state explicitb that your plan was approved and the basis for our approval.

Respond N to our June 17, 1974 letter, you conmitted in your July 8, 1974 letter (withheld from public disclosure pursuant to Section 2.790 of 10 CFR Part 2) to carry out the interim measures pending full-implementation of the NRC's approved plan.

Full implementation of your plan was achieved during August 1975 and was verified by the Office of Inspectic.. and Enforcement.

In sumary, the approved physical security plan for Yankee-Rowe consists of your original plan description submitted December 31, 1974, and your March 1,1974 submittal containing your response to staff questions.

We also confirm that our approval of the physical security plan for Yankee-Rowe is based on the NRC's staff finding that the plan as defined above, complies with the requirements in 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.34(c) and confoms to Regulatory Guide 1.17 dated June 1973.
