ISSUANCE OF FINAL SIGNIFICANCE DETERMINATION AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION This is to inform the Commission that a WHITE Significance Determination Process (SDP) finding and associated Notice of Violation will be issued on or around September 9, 2002, to Constellation Generation Group as a result of inspections at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant. This WHITE finding, an issue with low to moderate increased importance to safety, which may require additional NRC inspections, involved 49 sirens located in Calvert County, Maryland, which are part of the licensees alert and notification system (ANS), that were not capable of being activated in a timely manner between August 14, 2001 and November 5, 2001 (84 days) due to the removal of a computer icon used for activating the sirens at the county 911 Center. This condition represented a violation of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E. Accordingly, a Notice of Violation associated with a WHITE finding is being issued.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of this action. The schedule of issuance and notification are:
