Enclosed is an application (XSNM3806), dated October 26 , 2018 , received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission , from Thermo Fisher Scientific. The application requests the export of 37 fission chambers containing high-enriched uranium for use in neutron flux monitoring systems at Kori (Units 3 and 4), Shin Kori (Units 3-6), Hanul (Units 1 and 2), and Hanbit (Units 1 and 2), Nuclear Power Plants in the Republic of Korea. Assurances from the Republic of Korea that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation are required.
 
Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be apprec i ated. Please note that the dollar amount on page one of the NRC Form 7 i s proprietary information. The NRC will not include this information in the pub *c record and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well. cc w/enclosure
