On April 24, 2013, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a security inspection of the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) at the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC), Palo, Iowa. The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate whether the protection of the ISFSI was in compliance with the Physical Security Plan (PSP) for the ISFSI, NRC Orders EA-02-104, "Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures (ICMs) for DAEC," and EA-03-097, "Implementation of Additional Security Measures (ASMs) Associated with Access Authorization for DAEC." At the conclusion of the on-site inspection on April 24, 2013, the inspector discussed the inspection findings with you and members of your security and licensing staff. The inspection also examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security for the ISFSI and compliance with the NRC's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results. No findings were identified during this inspection.
