The Toledo Edison Company and the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company hereby jointly make application to amend material license SI4-1601 issued June 16, 1976 as follows:

: 1. Authorization is requested to receive, store, handle and install seven (7) irradiated surveillance specimen capsules containing by-product material typical of irradiated weld metal and base metal material used in the fabrication of reactor vessels.

Each surveillance capsule is 2.5 inches 0.D. , 2 inches I.D. and approximately 24 inches long. (Reference Topical Report - BAW-10006A) The capsules are part of the Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 and Rancho Seco reactor vessel surveillance programs. The capsules are to be installed in the surveillance specinen holders installed on the reactor vessel internals of Davis-3 esse Unit 1 prior to initial fuel loading.
