Bulletin No. 78-12 This letter is in response to your request for information concerning atypical weld material used in reactor pressure vessel fab ri ca t i on . The number corresponding to each item below represents the number of the iten of information requested in IE Bulletin No. 78-12 of September 29, 1978.
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 I.E. Bulletin No. 78-12 This letter is in response to your request for information concerning atypical weld material used in reactor pressure vessel fab ri ca t i on.
: 1. The requested information regarding primary reactor pressure vescel weldments has already been supplied to the NRC by the Jersey Central Power 6 1,ight (JCP6L) submittal dated January 12, 1978 to the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, titled " Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program".
The number corresponding to each item below represents the number of the iten of information requested in IE Bulletin No. 78-12 of September 29, 1978.
2 6 3.     We have contacted Combustion Engineering, Inc. (C-E), the supplier of the Oyster Creek reactor vessel, concerning items 2 6 3. They have informed us that they are proposing a revision to IE Bulletin 78-12. Their recommended revision was sent to Mr. Darold D. Thornburg by C-E letter dated November 3, 1978. C-E will keep us informed on the status of their recommendations.     When a decision is reached, C-E will send un the required information which will then be forwarded to you. No repair welding has been performed on the reactor pressure vessel by JCP6L.
