Dear Mr. Tedesco:

As requested in your letter dated October 17, 1980, the followint information is provided concerning the application of the cladding swelling and rupture models for loss of coolant accident analysis.

Our NSSS supplier, General Electric, maintains that the current analytical models described in "GE Company Analytical Model for Loss of Coolant Analysis in Accordance with 10CFR50 Appendix K" (NEDE-20566-P) and its amendments, con-servatively bound the clad swelling and rupture concerns of NUREG-0630. The schedule for completion of the Perry unique ECCS performance analysis is September 1982. In the interim, any significant changes in the acceptance criteria for the evaluation models, in accordance with Appendix K requirements, could be incorporated before the Perry analysis is complete.

If you require further information, please let us know.
