Enclosed is a Westinghouse Report entitled "Analysis of Capsule U from the Commonwealth Edison Byron Unit 1 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program". This report is being submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50, Appendix H. Surveillance capsule U was removed from the Unit I reactor vessel during the first refueling outage in the Spring of 1987.                 The surveillance capsule test results do not indicate any significant changes in the reference temperature, RTNDT, values projected for the reactor vessel. Please direct any questions regarding this matter to this office.
