Seabrook Unit No. 2:

Construction Permit

Dear Sir:

On December 3,1986, New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) notified the NRC

[ Reference (c)] of our intent to surrender the Seabrook Unit 2 Const ruc-tion Permit, CPPR-136, and requested a meeting be scheduled to discuss the process of the surrender. That notification of December 3,1986, ef fectively initiated the process by which the Construction Permit for Seabrook Unit 2 is surrendered. However, to eliminate confusion on the part of the Seabrook Joint Owners as to this fact and to reaf firm their direction to NHY to surrender the permit, NHY asks that the NRC treat that letter as a request for the irrevocable surrender of said permit.

Confirming discussions with your Staf f on December 16,1986, the meeting has now been scheduled for the week of January 5,1987, in Bethesda.

The NRC will issue a meeting notice confirming the date, time, and location of the meeting.
