A letter report documenting work completed under JCN W6095 is attached. It represents a summary of SCDAP/RELAPS and FRAPCON-3 analyses performed at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory to calculate the minimum time to fuel pin failure in boiling water reactors (BWRs). Results indicate that the minimum time to failure is 152 s, which is in close agreement with similar calculations previously submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission by the BWR Owners Group. | A letter report documenting work completed under JCN W6095 is attached. July 30,1999 Dr. R. Lee U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 TRANSMITTAL OF BWR FUEL PIN FAILURE REPORT - DLK-4-99
Dear Dr. Lee:
A letter report documenting work completed under JCN W6095 is attached. It represents a summary of SCDAP/RELAPS and FRAPCON-3 analyses performed at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory to calculate the minimum time to fuel pin failure in boiling water reactors (BWRs). Results indicate that the minimum time to failure is 152 s, which is in close agreement with similar calculations previously submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission by the BWR Owners Group.
Please feel free to call me (208-526-2899) if you have questions regarding this transmittal.
Sincerely.
