Sinkule of the USNRC Region II of a potentially reportabl.e condition concerning three of the eight Unit 1 main steam isolation valves, which failed to close within the required five seconds during preoperational testing.                           This condition was       initially         identified       in Operations     Deficiency   Reports       (0DR)

Sinkule of the USNRC Region II of a potentially reportabl.e condition concerning three of the eight Unit 1 main steam isolation valves, which failed to close within the required five seconds during preoperational testing.
This condition was initially identified in Operations Deficiency Reports (0DR)
T-1-86-2722 and T-1-86-2845.

Georgia Power Company is currently evaluating this condition for reportability and expects to inform the USNRC of the evaluation results by January 9, 1987. The main steam isolation valves will be corrected and operating properly for Unit 1 prior to entering Mode 3 operation.
