Inspection No. 50-289/87-21

A routine safety inspection of solid radioactive waste processing,

preparation, packaging and shippping activities was conducted by Mr. H.

bicehouse of this office on November 2-6, 1987 at the Three Mile Island

Station, Unit 1.

Our findings were discussed with members of your staff at

the conclusion of the inspection on November 6, 1987.

The areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I

Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter.

Within those areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and

representative records, interviews with personnel and observations by the

inspector.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.
