Based upon the task force's observations and a submittal by the licensee dated July 31, 1987, we have determined that reasonable assurance has been provided by the licensee (Portland General Electric) for safe operation of the Trojan feedwater system through the end of the 1988 operating cycle. Details are provided by the enclosed trip report.

Due to observed pipe thinning in the Trojan feedwater system,NRR established a Pipe Wall Thinning Task Force that visited Trojan on July 22-23, 1987.
