i Gentlemen:

This refers to your October 20, 1987 application for approval of your quality assurance program for radioactive material packages.

Enclosed is a copy of revised 10 CFR 170, which became effective June 20,1984. Please notice $170.31, fee Category 10F which specifies fees for applications for Part 71 quality assurance approvals, including renewals and amendments thereto. Applicants in fee Category 10F pay an initial application fee of $150 and are subsequently billed at 6-month intervals for all accumulated NRC costs or upon completion of the review, whichever occurs sooner. The totil fee assessed will be based on the actual NRC cost (professional staff-hours) to process the appli-cation as well as any contractual cost incurred.

Based on the above, please remit an application fee of $150 and mail it to my attention. If you have any questions concerning the fee, please let me know.
