FOLLOW UP ON COMMENTS ON SEVERE FUEL DAMAGE RESEARCH MEETING, OCTOBER 21-24, 1986 31, 1986, I indicated that Jaquelyn Longworth In my) memorandum (CEGB had objected todated Octobersource term changes to SRP Section 6.5.2 the proposed which would eliminate additives to PWR containment sprays and lower the sump pH requirements from 8.S to 7.0. I wrote Ms. Longworth and asked about the basis for their objection. She has responded and a copy of her letter is attached. It would appear that her comments deserve consideration whenever this matter may come up for further ACRS Subcommittee review. At the Comm,is-sion meeting on December 17, 1986, T. Speis (NRR) indicated that their review package had been sent to CRGR for review and approval to proceed with the proposed SRP changes for PWR spray additives and BWR pool scrubbing. As yet, the CRGR schedule to review this matter has not been announced.
This topic has been assigned to the Nuclear Plant Chemistry Subcommittee. I have included the Severe Accident Subcommittee in the distribution for information only.
