I would like to thank you for inviting me and agency staff to participate in the Nuclear EnergyInstitute's Emergency Planning Information Forum on June 13 th and 14 th. We welcome theopportunity to interact with your staff, licensees, and other stakeholders with regard to topics of interest to the nuclear industry. The Commission has specifically recognized that openness in our regulatory processes is essential for ensuring that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC) remains a strong, fair, predictable, and credible regulator. In this regard, we arecommitted to sharing openly information and decision-making activities with the public, as well as facilitating stakeholder involvement. I will present the key note address on Monday, June 13 th as described on your agenda. Members of my staff, Mr. Anthony McMurtray and Mr. Greg Casto will also supportpresentations.
