This letter is in response to the requirement published in 10CFR 50.49(g), which states that each licensee shall identify by May 20, 1983: | |||
: 1. a list of electric equipment within the scope of 10CFR 50.49 which is already qualified, | |||
: 2. a schedule for the qualification of equipment not presently qualified, and/or | |||
: 3. a schedule for the replacement of equipment not presently qualified. | |||
The R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant has been undergoing extensive review of the status of the environmental qualification of electrical equipment important to safety, initiated as part of the Sy'stematic Evaluation Program (SEP), by Franklin Research Center and the NRC. The status of this review is contained in the Safety Evaluation Report from Dennis M. Crutchfield, NRC, to John E. Maier, RGaE, dated December 13, 1982, and the attached FRC Technical Evaluation "Report TER-C5257-454. In order to maintain a consistent basis, this SER/TER will be used as the reference from which to reply to 10CFR 50.49. | |||

Maier, RG&E, to Dennis M. Crutchfield, NRC, dated February 1, 1983. The "NRC Category" II.A items are those for which qualification is not yet established. This letter is in response to the requirement published in 10CFR 50.49(g), which states that each licensee shall identify by May 20, 1983:
- 1. a list of electric equipment within the scope of 10CFR 50.49 which is already qualified,
- 2. a schedule for the qualification of equipment not presently qualified, and/or
- 3. a schedule for the replacement of equipment not presently qualified.
The R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant has been undergoing extensive review of the status of the environmental qualification of electrical equipment important to safety, initiated as part of the Sy'stematic Evaluation Program (SEP), by Franklin Research Center and the NRC. The status of this review is contained in the Safety Evaluation Report from Dennis M. Crutchfield, NRC, to John E.
