Annette L. Vietti-Cook, Secretary REQUESTS FOR HEARING TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION Attached are requests for hearing submitted by the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Vermont Department of Public Service and the New England Coalition, respectively dated May 26, 2006. Additionally, attached is a request for hearing submitted by the Town of Marlboro, Vermont, dated April 27, 2006. The requests were submitted in response to a notice issued by the NRC staff that provided an opportunity for hearing on the license renewal application of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. for renewal of the facility operating license for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. The notice was published in the Federal Reqister at 71 Fed. Reg. 15220 (March 27,2006).
The requests and supporting documents are being added to ADAMS and will shortly be available on the Electronic Hearing Docket. On June 1, 2006, counsel for the NRC staff advised that the actual receipt of the Town of Marlboro's hearing request, post marked May 15, 2006, was May 31, 2006, and that counsel's time for response would run from the actual date of receipt. A copy of the letter of the counsel for the staff is also attached. The hearing requests and related documents are being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R.
§2.346(i).
