Vietti-Cook, Secretary (j?.&s-&G REQUESTS FOR HEARING SUBMITTED BY THE VERMONT DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND THE NEW ENGLAND COALITION Attached are requests for hearing dated August 30, 2004, and submitted by the Vermont Department of Public Service and the New England Coalition. The requests for hearing were submitted in response to a Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to Facility Operating License and Opportunity for a Hearing issued by the NRC staff. The notice addressed the request by the Licensee for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (Docket No. 50-271) for an amendment to the plants license that would allow a 20% increase in the maximum authorized power level for plant operation and a change in the technical specifications for implementation of the uprated power operation. The Notice was published in the Federal Reqister at 69 Fed. Reg. 39976 (July 1, 2004)

The hearing requests are being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. $2.346.
