River Bend Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 By {{letter dated|date=March 30, 1988|text=letter dated March 30, 1988}}, Gulf States Utilities Company (GSU) stated their site restoration plans'for 1988. The status of each' item is listed below:
1 Abandonment of Observation Wells and Piezometers During 1988, 22 observation wells and piezometers were abandoned. The required forms have been filed with the Louisiana Office of Public Works.
GSU expects to continue to abandon and plug wells and piezometers at this pace.
Close and Restore the Area Adjacent to the Primary Spoil Area During 1988, erosion repairs and protection were accomplished in this area used as a permitted construction debris landfill. Although placement of construction debris in the landfill has ceased, regulatory closure cannot be completed until the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality issues final closure rules in late 1991.
Clarifier and Normal Cooling Towers Drainage and Erosion During 1988, approximately 50% of the work around the clarifiers was completed. No work was performed around the normal cooling towers.
Maintenance of the Unit 2 Berm and Excavation Slopes During 1988, the Unit 2 berms and excavation slopes near the ultimate heat                                                                                                                           ,
