PLANT SHUTDOWN GREATER THAN 72 HOURS On December 6, at 5:30 p.m., the licensee manually scrammed the reactor to complete a planned shutdown. The outage was scheduled to replace the Reactor Recirculation Pump B seal package. The licensee had indications of a degraded inboard seal. The outboard seal functioned correctly, therefore there was no increase in leakage from the pump. The scope of outage work also includes troubleshooting and repairing the CHC pressure regulator, replacing a pedestal sump pump, repairing secondary plant steam leaks, and repairing a generator hydrogen seal oil system leak. Depending on the conditions that the licensee finds in the pump seal, the outage scope may by increased La include the Recirculation Pump A seal package. The licensee plans to begin plant start up on December 11, 1992.
