PA0025615 Enclosed are the Revised August 2022 Outfall 003 & 004 NPDES Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR), Revised Daily Effluent Monitoring Report Forms for Outfalls 003 & 004 and Corrective Action Letter from Eurofins detailing the reason for the original August 2022 incomplete DMR data.
Aluminum sample analysis data for Outfalls 003 & 004 was not provided by the contract lab prior to the August 28 , 2022 DMR submission deadline. This revised submission includes the sample results for these Outfalls. A review of the data indicates no permit parameters were exceeded during the month. Outfall 001 flow data remains unavailable as documented in the original August 2022 DMR submission.

   -:a. eurofins To: Energy Harbor From: Amanda L. Grilli, Quality Assurance Manager, Eurofins Pittsburgh Date: 09/28/2022 Re: Job Number 180-143854 This letter is in reference to the corrective action for job 180-143854 for Energy Harbor received by Eurofins Pittsburgh on 09/01/2022.
Sample 180-143854 was digested in batch 411608 on 09/09/2022 and run on 09/23/2022. The method blank was 37.5 ug/L over the acceptable 30ug/L limit. The samples were redigested on 9/24/2022 and analyzed on 9/26/2022.
A combination of analyst absence, volume of work, and contamination discovered in method blank contributed to delay in analysis. The project manager corresponded with the client informing them of the situation. The original samples would have been reported late, but in time for the DMR deadline.
The analyst backlog was substantial due to previous instrumentation issue. Additional prep and instrumentation analysts are being introduced to decrease backlog of methods. Training was conducted for prep analysts to prioritize samples requiring a second digestion and the importance of sample handling to prevent contamination. Prep analysts will continue to provide routine cleaning around sample digestions to avert contamination.
