Letter, G02-79-156, DL Renberger to RH Engelken, subject, "WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 2, IE Bulletin 79-14" dated September 7, 1979 The following clarification is submitted to the reference in regard to our response to the subject bulletin.
The reference stated in part that as-built drawings are given additional checks by contractors' QA/QC inspectors on all safety-related piping and supports, and that the process is controlled by project procedures and is monitored by the Owner's QA group who perform random surveillances.
Due to evolutionary changes in construction practices, as-built drawings are given additional checks by contractor field engineers rather than QA/QC inspectors on all safety-related piping and supports. Contractor QC inspectors do perform the in-process inspections to insure that con-struction is performed in conformance with the approved design. As i         before, this process is controlled by project procedures, and is monitored by the Owner's QA group who perform random surveillances.
