Report for Period of January 1, 2002 through June 30, 2002 TEST RESULTS WCNOC performs random testing of the workforce at an annual rate of at least 50 percent of the workforce in accordance with 10 CFR 26.24(a)(2).

For the six-month period beginning January 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2002, random screens were performed at a rate of 58.4% of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) population.

WCNOC submitted blind performance specimens in accordance with 10 CFR 26, Appendix A, Section 2.8(e)(2), requirements. There were no reportable events.

WCNOC Employees One WCNOC employee tested positive for alcohol on a random test.

The individual's unescorted access was suspended. Unescorted access was reinstated after the individual completed the requirements of 10 CFR 26 and WCNOC procedures. The individual was placed in the Fitness for Duty follow-up program.

One WCNOC employee was given a for-cause test for alcohol and the result was in the buffer zone (0.020 - 0.039). The individual's supervisor was notified of the result.

Contractors Four contractors tested positive for marijuana and one for cocaine on pre-access testing.

Unescorted access was denied.

Three contractors tested positive for alcohol. Two of the screenings were for-cause tests and the other one was a pre-access test. Unescorted access was revoked/denied.

Two contractors tested in the buffer zone (0.020 - 0.039) for alcohol. One was a for-cause test and the other test was a pre-access test. Their supervisors were notified of the results.

One contractor was notified to report for a random test and then left site before being tested. The individual's unescorted access was revoked.

Five individuals were placed in the follow-up program based on other FFD concerns.

Fitness For Duty Program Changes No changes to the FFD program were implemented.
