NRC MONTHLY OPERATING REPORT
SUMMARY
OF OPERATIONS WATERFORD 3 AUGUST 1986 The unit started the month at approximately 100% power. On August.4, a unit shutdown was commenced due to safety injection tank boron concentration being outside technical specification limits. After reaching 75% power, the unit returned to 100% power after the boron concentration was verified to be within limits. On August 22 a unit power reduction was initiated'to perform control element assembly exercising and turbine valve testing required by technical specifications. On August 23 the unit returned to 100% power and continued operation at approximately 100% power to the end of the month.
