NRC MONTHLY OPERATING REPORT

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS WATERFORD 3 DECEMBER 1984 On December 18, 1984 at 13:00 the unit received a low power operating license which limited operation to 5% rated thermal power. Fuel load was started on December 18 at 23:30 and was completed on December 23 at 15:00. Reactor core verificatica, core alignment checks, installation of the upper guide structure and incore instrumentation, coupling and verification of control element assemblies and reactor vessel stud tensioning were completed. On December 30 at 21:00 the unit entered Mode 5 (cold shutdown).

, or SPRING-LOADED PRESSURIZER SAFETY VALVE FAILURES AND CHALLENGES WATERFORD 3 During the month of December 1984, there were no spring-loaded pressurizer safety valve failures or challenges.
