Fitness for Duty Program Six Month Performance Report July - December 2005 PROGRAM

SUMMARY

The Waterford 3 annual random testing rate is 50 percent. During this reporting period, approximately 29.83 percent of the population has been randomly tested.

The rate of positive tests from random testing is 0.35 percent. The total random percentage for the year is 54.4 percent.

POSITIVE RESULTS:

As shown on the attached sheets, there were two positive tests during this reporting period. One confirmed positive for cocaine and one confirmed positive for alcohol.

MANAGEMENT ACTIONS:

During this reporting period, three for-cause tests were requested. Two were requested because of accidents. Both samples returned negative results. The other was requested due to a smell of alcohol. This sample was confirmed positive for alcohol. Management was notified and the individual's access was denied. The file was annotated to reflect the positive result and denial of access.

One contractor tested positive during random testing. Management was notified and his access was denied. His file was annotated to reflect the positive result and denial of access.

Three follow-up samples were collected from licensee employees during this reporting period. All samples returned negative results.

EVENTS REPORTED TO THE NRC:

During this reporting period, there weire no violations of the fitness for duty program that were reportable.

PROGRAM EVALUATION:

No programmatic problems were identified during this reporting period.
