STAFF REQUIREMENTS - SECY-17-0017 - PROPOSED REVISION TO NUREG-1530, REASSESSMENT OF NRCS DOLLAR PER PERSON-REM CONVERSION FACTOR POLICY The Commission has approved the staffs recommendation to publish the final version of NUREG-1530, Revision 1, Reassessment of NRCs Dollar per Person-Rem Conversion Factor Policy, subject to the enclosed edits. The Commission has also approved the publication of a notice in the Federal Register informing the public of the availability of NUREG-1530, Revision 1.
The staff should engage in rulemaking to update the conversion factor in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities, Appendix I, Numerical Guides for Design Objectives and Limiting Conditions for Operation To Meet the Criterion As Low as Is Reasonably Achievable [ALARA] for Radioactive Material in Light-Water-Cooled Nuclear Power Reactor Effluents (Section II, Paragraph D).
