1. ULNRC-06030, Ameren Missouri Response to NRC Request for Information Pursuant to 10CFR50.54(f) Regarding the Seismic Aspects of Recommendation 2.1 of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights From the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident-1.5 Year Responses for CEUS Sites, dated September 12, 2013 On September 12, 2013, Union Electric Co. (dba Ameren Missouri) submitted a response (Reference
1) pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f) regarding the seismic aspects of Recommendation 2.1 of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident. It contained descriptions of subsurface materials and properties and base case velocity profiles prepared by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). This report identified the Safe Shutdown Earthquake (SSE) control point for Callaway Unit 1 to be at the foundation level of the nuclear island at a depth of approximately 37 feet. This is incorrect in that the SSE control point is actually at the finished grade (surface). EPRI then used this information to prepare additional seismic hazard and screening information (Ground Motion Response Spectra (GMRS) curves).

The corrected SSE Control Point, updated base case velocity profiles and GMRS curves will be provided in the March 31, 2014 submittal, which will also include the remaining seismic hazard and screening information.
