Exelon Generation

Subject:

Notification of Readiness for NRC 95001 Inspection (EA-17-098)

Reference:

Letter from Cynthia D. Pederson (NRC) to Bryan C. Hanson (EGC), "Clinton Power Station - Final Significance Determination of a White Finding with Assessment Followup and Notice of Violation; NRC Inspection Report No.

05000461/2017010," dated November 27, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17331B161)

In the referenced letter, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) was informed that a finding associated with the failure to evaluate the change in the actual drop out voltages for replacement relays associated with the Division 1 Emergency Diesel Generator (EOG) room ventilation fan is appropriately characterized as White, a finding of low to moderate safety significance. As a result, the NRC assessed the Clinton Power Station to be in the Regulatory Response column of the NRC's Action Matrix, effective the third quarter of 2017.

Because of being placed in the Regulatory Response Column of the Action Matrix, the NRC informed EGC of their plans to conduct a supplemental inspection using Inspection Procedure 95001, "Inspection for One or Two White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area,"

(IP 95001) when EGC's staff had notified the NRC of its readiness for this inspection.

This letter serves as notification of EGC's readiness for a supplemental inspection using NRC IP 95001 at the Clinton Power Station as requested by the referenced letter.
