Clinton Power Station Supplementary 2008 Annual Radiological Environmental Operating Report In accordance with Technical Specification requirement 5.6.2, Exelon Generating Company, LLC (Exelon) is submitting a Supplementary 2008 Annual Radiological Environmental Operating Report for Clinton Power Station. This report covers a mis-labeling event that was discovered on February 21, 2008 by a site vendor that is responsible for installing and sampling the media used for monitoring airborne radioactivity.
February 21, 2008 IR #769141 Clinton's ODCM Table 5.1-1(2)(a) requires CONTINUOUS sampling at location CL-15, located 0.9 miles North of the site HVAC Stack. This location, as well as other ODCM air sample locations, has the radioiodine sample media collected and analyzed weekly.
On February 21, 2008, the site vendor reported that upon receipt of ten (10) canisters for analysis, two of the ten were labeled as location CL-15. A review of the expected locations showed that CL-94 was missing and presumed to also be labeled as CL-15. CL-94 is a non-ODCM monitoring location. The results of the analysis on each of the canisters labeled as CL-15 were below the Lower Limit of Detectability (LLD), therefore, there were no radiological consequences for the ODCM radiological environmental monitoring program.
