1 On September 14, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. H. S. Phillips of a i
deficiency involving cable termination inspections which indicate that l
multiple cable termination deviations may exist in a safety related component.-
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e),
i Specifically, conductor lug terminations for hydrogen purge containment isolation valve CP2-VADPEC-01 may be inadequate due to improper crimping of the lug barrels.
i We are continuing our evaluation of the im3act of this issue upon the safety of plant operations. Our next report on tais issue will be submitted no later than January 19, 1988.
