Gentlemen:
On July 8,1987, we verbally notified your Mr. R. F. Warnick of a deficiency involving the rotational direction of the Auxiliary Feedwater (AFW) Pump Motor Cooling Fans for Units 1 and 2.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Our latest report on this issue was logged TXX-6629 dated August 7, 1987.
Our evaluation of the impact of those conditions on the safe operation of the plant is continuing. We will submit our next report on this issue no later than December 2, 1987.
