DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 118 VAC CIRCUIT BREAKER SIZING SDAR: CP-87-86'(INTERIMREPORT)
Gentlemen:
On September 3,1987, we verbally notified your Mr. H. S. Phillips of a deficiency involving potentially undersized circuit breakers in Class IE 118 VAC distribution panels.
During the design validation program, a calculation has been completed which indicates three branch circuit breakers in the Class IE 118 VAC instrument bus distribution Janels may be undersized.
This is an interim report of a potentially reporta)1e item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Our evaluation of this issue is continuing to determine the effects of these conditions, specifically, involving inadvertent trips of Class 1E circuits and 4
I the operability of Class 1E equipment. We expect to submit our next report by i
January 15, 1988.
Very truly yours
