On August 28, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. R. F. Warnick of a j
deficiency involving cable installations which have been completed using processes which may be inconsistent with the manner in which the Cable and Raceway Data System (CARDS) calculates percent fill and cable weight loading for cable trays.
This issue was discovered during a CARDS report analysis and was confirmed during a field investigation.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
We are continuing our evaluation of the impact of this issue on the safety of plant operations. We will submit our next report on this issue no later than December 4, 1987.
