On August 24,1987',$ weverf>allynotifiedyourMr.H.S.'Phillipsofa potentially reportable item involving the pressure relieving capacity of the tornado, venting devices on 'Upits 3 and 2.
Specifically, the existing Design Basis Tornade (DBT) analysis does not include sufficient documentation to show
,90nclusively that safety-related equipment can withstand the differential pressuris (negative pressure transient) expected during the DBT.
\\.,We are currently conducting an analysis of the effects,0f the DBT on safety-related equipment utilizing pressure differential values determined from calculations based on as-built design.
The results of our analysis will be provided in our next report on this issue.
We anticipate submitting our next report on this issue no later than December 11, 1987.
