On August 14, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. I. Barnes of a deficiency involving the seismic air gap design adequacy between the Auxiliary Building and Units 1 and 2 Containment Buildings. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Our latest interim report, logged TXX-6553, was submitted on July 8, 1987.
i We are continuing our evaluation of the impact of this issue upon the safety l
of plant operations.
Our next report on the issue will be submitted no later than November 11, 1987.
