Gentlemen:

On July 22, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. I. Barnes of a deficiency involving a condition cited at another nuclear facility in which an open electrical connection on one crimp lug caused a failure in load sequencing equipment.

This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

Our evaluation of this is continuing. We expect to submit our next report by October 23, 1987.
